Monday 11 November 2019 marks the 101st anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). At 11 am, the nation will pause to observe a minute’s silence in memory of those who have died or suffered in war and peacekeeping and humanitarian operations.
The Remembrance Day National Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial includes a formal wreathlaying and will be attended by many high-level dignitaries, diplomats, and school students, as well as thousands of members of the general public.
